Communism a bigger threat than World War I and II, Pearl Harbor or 9/11: Donald Trump
Mir Dinar Hossain, International Des k: US President Donald Trump has described communism as the biggest threat to America, accusing it of a new attack on the country's identity and values, at a rally marking the 250th anniversary of US independence.
At a rally held at Mount Rushmore, South Dakota on July 3, 2026, Trump said that a generation after the victory over communism in the Cold War, communism is resurgent on our soil again. Even among the newcomers, there are followers of ideologies that are completely contrary to the American way of life. He stressed that this is not a simple political difference but a mortal threat to American freedom.
He also added that communism is a bigger threat than World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor or 9/11. It is an enemy of free people, the Constitution, and the values of July 4, 1776.
He alleged that while extremists attack American history, they are silent about communism's own horrific history. It is said that 100 million people have been killed by communism in the last century. It is the opposite of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — the pursuit of death, oppression, and evil.
The US president said that communism does not respect law, justice, tradition, and God-given rights. It is an ideology of mass theft, mass control, mass lies, and genocide. It has no place in a democracy, because when it comes to power, it destroys democracy itself.
He made it clear, "You can be loyal to Karl Marx, or to America. You can be a communist, or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both."
The US president, taking an oath to protect the freedoms won with the blood of American ancestors, said, "America will never be a communist country!" He declared that the citizens of the United States would completely banish communism from the country.
