Is Mamata Banerjee going to join Congress again after 28 years?

International Desk: Mamata Banerjee left the Congress on January 1, 1998 and gave birth to the Trinamool Congress. After the final defeat in this year's assembly elections, is the Trinamool supremo going to return to the Congress again? This question is going around in the inner circle of politics.

According to the news from the political camp in Delhi, Mamata Banerjee may return to the Congress again amid the breakup of the Trinamool Congress. According to sources, Mamata Banerjee has been offered the post of All India Vice President of the Congress. It is learnt that former Congress President Sonia Gandhi herself made this offer.

According to political experts, will Mamata 'return home' again after 28 years? Along with this, another question is arising - will the Trinamool Congress built by Mamata Banerjee fall?

According to sources, Mamata was offered this offer after a private meeting with Sonia Gandhi last Tuesday. Similarly, Rahul Gandhi has offered Abhishek Banerjee the post of Congress General Secretary.

Behind this speculation is the internal crisis in Trinamool. There is a fear that about 20 Lok Sabha MPs led by Kakli Ghosh Dastidar will form a separate bloc and claim to be the 'real Trinamool'. The rebel faction is also active in the Rajya Sabha and the Assembly. It is reported that 64 MLAs led by Ritabrata Banerjee are trying to form a separate group in the Assembly.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said in this regard, "No one knows what happened internally. We should not comment on this matter. However, I will say that since Mamata Banerjee started with the Congress, if she returns to the Congress, then the saying will be true - 'Mushik Bhav again'."
