We took millions of barrels of oil and destroyed 22 ships without Iran's knowledge: Donald Trump

International Desk: US President Donald Trump has made sensational claims about the US's secret operation against Iran. He said, 'Do you know, we are recovering millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows this. Do you know who doesn't know this? Iran - so far. We destroyed 22 ships the other night.'

In the conflict that began in February 2026, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, which caused a major blow to global oil supplies. According to Trump, the US targeted Iranian mine-laying ships and destroyed 22 ships. He claimed that this disrupted Iran's oil exports.

Trump also said that Iran had not been informed of this information until now, but now it has been informed.

Meanwhile, Iran has dismissed these claims as propaganda. They say that their navy is still strong and oil exports are ongoing. However, the fluctuations in oil prices in the international market are showing the effect of this tension.

A US administration source said the strikes were aimed at disrupting Iranian mine-laying efforts. According to Trump, a large part of Iran's navy was destroyed.
